Opinion:

I wanted to improve the sound of my bedroom Panasonic LCD TV, so I started to look into several solutions like Audioengine A2, A5+, and many others micro systems or active speakers. Then I found that Denon released this micro system only two weeks ago as a replacement of the Denon DM38S (Award winning for two years). So with no regrets I placed the order via Amazon (only one was in stock) and I got it yesterday. No words to describe how amazing this little micro system sounds. I have my DirecTV HD DVR and an Apple TV hooked up to my TV via HDMI, so just an optical cable from my TV into the Denon DM39S do the job. Did I say how Awesome this little thing sounds??? 100% recommended!!!

Polk Audio PSW10

POLK AUDIO
PSW10

Don't Go Subwooferless

CNet.com says, "The PSW10's deep-bass capabilities were impressive, but its definition and control...were really special." Big, affordable, and fun. Add deep bass excitement and extended dynamic thrills to your music or movie sound system with an easy to choose, easy to connect and easy to use powered subwoofer.

PSW10 Features:

  • PSW enclosures are designed and engineered for perfect volume, minutely tuned for distortion-free low frequencies, and internally braced and damped to eliminate internal standing waves and other performance-robbing resonances.

  • This unique configuration uses a specially tuned and directed port to more efficiently produce maximum bass impact.

  • Combining just the right driver materials, speaker geometry and enclosure construction techniques has a synergistic effect that produces cleaner, clearer sound.

  • PSW subwoofers outperform the competition with durable, resonance-free Dynamic Balance driver materials that stay stiff and move fast. You experience deep, musical low frequencies and thrilling effects with superior system blending.

  • Easily accessible, professional-grade line- and speaker-level inputs, and speaker level outputs, allow easy connection to any system.

  • Smart sensing circuitry knows when to turn itself on and off. Superior compression circuitry limits distortion at extreme volume levels. Intelligent amplifier also features adjustable low-pass crossover, phase switch & subwoofer volume controls to professionally control your bass output and the subwoofer's blending characteristics with your front stage speakers.

  • PSW Series subwoofers blend perfectly with systems composed of other Polk loudspeakers, especially TSi, RM and R/T/M Series speakers.

  • Unique design keeps your subwoofer stable and steady even at radical volume levels, for more efficient use of power. No more "escaped washing machine" syndrome.

PSW10 Opinion:

This is an excellent inexpensive subwoofer. I got it for free when I purchased my Rti-12's from Frys Electronics. Even though it's only a 50 watt sub, it hits surprisingly hard and is a great low-cost addition to a home theater system. It will add a lot to your movies. It's a little bit muddy sounding when it comes to music, but to be fair I'm comparing this to how my PSW-1000 sounds. I've had this sub for about a year and it works great, if you need some extra bass for your home theater system and have a tight budget, pick this one up. It's very good for a smaller room. It gets five stars because it significantly outperforms the 200$ price tag.

 Opinion:
I bought these speakers in 1995, which makes them (and me) really old to date. I've had audiofile friends tell me how nice, and how expensive their speakers they have are. I've seen a lot of fancy looking speakers, and all the top brands. Nothing is a better workhorse, has clearer sound, and deeper bass, than these. I have hammered these babies for years, and they still sound great. I've hauled em' from Ohio, to Oregon, and now to North Carolina. People scoff when they see them now. Beat up cabinets and the covers are not too pretty. But when I light em' up with my Onkyo, they sing, and people can't believe the sound. 15" subs just effing pound. Thats all there is to it. The tweets, and mids sound great, at high and low volume. Superb sensitivity, makes every watt count. Some people say they sound to bass heavy. To those people, I say kiss my ass. Without hopefully sounding too corny, I can honestly say, these speakers have been a part of my life. A lotta fond memories. This is my first review on Amazon I have ever written, and I can't say enough about the love I feel for these speakers. If you buy them, and your buddy comes over and tells you his thousand dollar 'enter brand name here' speakers sound better, it's because he's jealous. Trust me, I've been dealing with it for years...
